I have noticed Chinese tea distributors will put almost anything on the box other than “Product of China”. Trying to avoid them due to reading about heavy metals in their soil.

Hi Andrew – anytime they say “Ceylon tea” that means tea that is grown in produced in Sri Lanka, which was formerly known as Ceylon. You can check out Dilmah’s website for more information. Here are their tea gardens: https://www.dilmahtea.com/dilmah-tea-company/dilmah-tea-gardens-plantations.html

I see “Sri Lanka” and “Single Origin” and lots of stories about Sri Lanka. Am I missing something ?

I didn’t know what brand they were as I only drank what was on shelf at home. To my delight I was totally impressed with my first cup of Dilmah tea. Being a typical American tea drinker I was surprised that I even noticed a difference. But, what a difference. It made me squint to read the subtle Dilmah name on the tea mug printed on the foil and then look it up on web. I still am able to enjoy other teas, but now I make every effort to make it Dilmah. I still don’t know what particular Dilmah tea I’m drinking, I suspect it’s the English Breakfast Tea, but I will be calling the office in Sri Lanka to find out.
