You guys know I love tea. And I love lemon in tea, too.
And since you’ve been with me throughout my detox period ridding the heavy metals from my body the last few years, I thought I’d share with you one of my favorite beverages that’s always refreshing and quite tasty.
I created this tea detox recipe a few weeks ago on a Friday night in my Manhattan apartment.
I had just been told that I had to cut out sugar from my lifestyle.
And I almost lost my mind.
I had Candida and it wasn’t fun. So, just like anyone else that is in excruciating pain- you do what you’ve gotta do to heal and help your body get better asap.
So, I purchased a few bottles of purified spring water. A few different herbal and green teas.
A bottle of organic apple cider vinegar.
Liquid stevia.
Fresh, organic cilantro and a whole ‘lotta fresh, organic lemons.
Yep, that’s all you’ll need.
I love tea but I’ve never written about it on my blog, which is kinda sorta crazy since I drink about 10 cups a day.
Don’t look at me like that. I know you like tea, too.
Or some sort of beverage that you drink 10 times a day. (I really hope it’s not soda)… Please tell me it’s not soda.
This is totally a summer beverage your whole family will be loving. Or maybe just you.
As for me, I’m heading downtown to the West Village to soak up the sunshine and read a new book. Of course, I’ve packed two water bottles with this tea to enjoy all afternoon.
Store-bought teas just aren’t the same.
Believe me. You’ll love it.
Here’s to cooling off the heat wave wherever you are this week.
Enjoy.

This tea sounds fantastic! I drink apple cider vinegar in the morning with a little maple syrup, but this would be a wonderful way to reap the benefits all day long!
Thanks!
Looks so yummy!
YUM! I love lemon & tea! Great idea! Thanks for the recipe 🙂
Great Recipe! I usually always have these ingredients on hand so I am looking forward to making up a batch of this tea. I’ve tried to cut out any processed food and refined sugar so this will be a nice change up from all the water.
I never thought of putting apple cider vinegar in tea. My husband is supposed to drink it before each meal but usually forgets. This would make it much easier as pretty much all we drink is tea, water and wine.
thanks for this recipe, I never thought of adding apple cider vinegar to drinks (I’ve been drinking it by the tablespoon to battle my candida)
I hope I will the Sahale Snacks!!!
Fantastic — I’m making this *tonight*! Sounds like the perfect refreshment to pair with Sahale Snacks. 😉 Thanks for sharing, Amie!
great recipe!
This looks like a nice summer drink. Everybody is talking about adding fruits and herbs to their water, but I keep forgetting to try it.
I drink a lot each day, and even more this month since my husband and I have been trying to eat (and drink) cleaner this month, thanks to your challenge. And Amie, I promise we have not been drinking soda. 🙂 We have been drinking lots of water. I think I will give this a try. Something different with flavor will be nice for a change. Thanks for sharing! And I do believe this tea would go great with the Sahale Snacks!!
I especially love iced tea that is fresh and chemical free. What intrigues me about this is that you are using it as part of a detox for candida. This is something I have struggled with for a long time. I am always looking for new (natural) methods to control it. Also, I just went off “the pill” and the sooner I can get my body back to it’s normal hormonal levels, the better. Hopefully, this tea will help in my cleansing efforts w/ that too! Thanks so much!
Looks wonderful, can’t wait to try, thank you!
So easy, a must do!
Looks delicious, thanks!
Wow this sounds delicious! I LOVE tea (and drink A LOT of it), but I’ve never tried white tea. Will certainly try now 😀
thank you for posting this, i hate plain water so this will definately be great
On the subject of drinks….any thoughts on the sobe lifewaters or the vitamin water zeros that are sweetened with stevia??
Thanks Heather; I haven’t tried Sobe waters but the vitamin waters I know are filled with a bunch of additives so they may bother people’s stomachs, etc. as the ingredient list is pretty long. Hope that helps!!
AMIE I LOVE ALL KINDS OF TEA BUT I AM CAREFUL OF TEAS BECAUSE OF GLUTEN THANK YOU FOR THIS ONE I WILL BE MAKING IT IN A FEW MINUTES.
How much cilantro are you using?
There isn’t cilantro in this recipe Meredith but I add it into this tea and use 2 Tbsp. of chopped organic cilantro!
I could drink 10 cups of this tea a day too 🙂 I love lemon in everything. I’m glad you shared this!
