Lately I’ve been dreaming of using mangoes in my smoothies.
I’m not really sure why.
Or where these dreams are coming from.
Or what dreaming about mangoes even means…
But I just took it as a sign to get out my blender and use this tender sweet fruit to make a little dairy-free recipe magic happen in my kitchen.
I mean come on… it’s summer.
And to me, mango’s scream ‘Summer’.
Don’t they?
The best part about this smoothie is that I used fresh cilantro to add a kick of flavor without any added sugar! It’s one of my latest dairy free dessert recipes that I serve with a sprinkle of coconut flakes, fresh cilantro, mango, cinnamon and almond milk. O ya, and a lot of ice cubes.
Pretty easy, right?
You guys, if you are a coconut fan you are going to drool over this smoothie. It’s pretty addicting. Even my father (who is Not a coconut fan) loved every sip and I’ll be making this for him every time I’m at the beach this summer to visit my parents.
I really hope you’re not a coconut-hater. I know there are a few of you out there. But if you are – no need to worry… simply add in 1/2 tsp. cocoa powder instead of the coconut flakes for a sweet touch.
And if you don’t like mango, well then – I guess you’re going to have to look for another smoothie recipe. Unless you want to substitute it with cantaloupe – but that’s your choice.
Have fun. Whip out your dusty blender.
And don’t forget to have a bunch of ice ready to toss in.
It’s pretty magical.
Especially on a summer morning (and the kids love this one too)!
Have a great week.

Having recently discovered that the cause of my health troubles is food intolerance, I really appreciate your easy and delicious recipes. Thanks so much!
This recipe looks SOOOO Good!!! I love mango and coconut!!!!!! Always looking for new recipes to use them together. I have chia seeds could I use them in place of the hemp seeds and still get the same result?
interesting combination in that and might have to try it.
The cilantro really threw me! Curious to try this!!
Mango Magic….looks amazing!
I bet other fresh herbs from the garden would be good, too. I have mint, basil and parseley… But cilantro is prob amazing!
This sounds amazing. One question…..is there something that can be substituted for the banana for those who either do not like banana or who cannot have that much potassium? 🙂 thank you!!!!!
YUM. Almond Mango Perfectness!
I’ve never thought to add cilantro to smoothies! Love the idea. Will have to try it!
Hi,
I love making smoothies with mangos, they make it very creamy and rich. However for smoothies I prefer to either buy the organic frozen mango or just cut them up and freeze them myself, I think that this results in a much creamy smoothie and it blends up nicer without ice in my opinion.
I recently read that Blue Diamond is a user friendly brand. I never buy it because it’s not organic. I may reconsider because you are using it AND having read that other article about earth friendly and unfriendly corporations.
Love you blog, read it all the time.
Thank you so much; you are so kind. Hope you enjoy it!
AMIE,

I love mango and love the idea of this smoothie!
Thank you Kristen! Have a wonderful week!
I’m not a huge fan of mango by itself but I do love it with peaches. That would be divine! I’d have to leave out the cilantro too (allergic) but this sounds delicious.
Thanks Lisa!
YUm! Cilantro? I love cilantro. I have a crisper full of mangos waiting to be puree’d into this smoothy. I just need to get me some almond milk 😉
